The second work I’m going to introduce is Ghost. “Ghost,” which deals with the story of summoning suspects to a remote hotel to catch the spy “Ghost,” who infiltrated the Korean Governor-General’s Office, is written as “Action” in the movie’s genre classification. The explanation at the end of the poster or trailer also explains the movie as “spy action,” and if you look at the trailer, you can see that the proportion of the action is quite large. Various forms of action appear in the trailer, from bare-handed fighting to gunfights to large-scale explosions, but it creates a unique atmosphere along with the modern visuals unique to the Japanese colonial era. I can understand this unique style when I think that “Ghost” is the comeback work of director Lee Hye-young of “Believer,” which was released five years ago. The remake of AAA’s masterpiece, “The War on Drugs,” did not disagree with the film’s strong style, whether it was an audience or a reviewer, even though its likes and dislikes were divided. This part appealed to the audience, showing the potential to attract more than 5 million spectators in the market at the time when the noir genre did not show much strength. Considering these things, I think it is safe to say that “ghosts” are guaranteed “fun to watch.” Strong actors who lead to Seol Kyung-gu, Lee Han-hee, Park So-dam, Park Hye-soo, and Seo Hyun-woo also add trust in the movie. It is a story in which various characters doubt each other in a limited space, so it seems interesting to see the ensemble of actors, but the names of the cast actors make the expectations even higher. The anti-Japanese forces have not been identified as good actors, and I think the setting to infer them in reverse is a different point from the Japanese colonial background, but I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of work it is. By the way, it is also the first Korean movie to be released by IMAX since “Emergency Declaration” and 4DX is scheduled to be released.
